Sap is a poetry zine by Pip Sheehan. A collection of poems from 2006-2008.
I am only given words
you are my heart's drum
the song I play upon...
long strong song
Wordsmith, librarian, community arts worker, mental health and disability carer, Pip writes of family, country and belonging, imprinted by the beautiful but regionally isolated places she's lived since growing up in Newcastle.
As well as having poetry published in Aust & NZ journals including Quadrant, Five Bells, and Poetry NZ, Pip has three collections, Colourheat, Undercurrent 1992; Indigo Thistles, Peak 2001; and Solace, Peak 2012; has run workshops; and facilitated spoken word events Pink Dot Poets Brunswick Heads, Paradiso Poets Wanaka, and Sapphire Bar Poets Cairns.
Sending three chapbooks on their way since 2017, Pip has a stack of youtube tracks backed by Francis and the Shadow Girl, and has a graphic art instapoetry habit. A Maitland Verses poet-in-residence 2017-18, Pip is now emcee of the monthly Cessnock spoken word event Live at the Crossing.
